We invite you to submit an expression of interest for a new and exciting national activist team we are forming. We are seeking experienced trainers and group facilitators with a passion for defending human rights to join the training element of the Activist Skills Collective.
The Activist Skills Collective program aims to build a training team that involves current Amnesty leaders with skills expertise, to form a collective who provide activists with a range of skill-sharing opportunities including:
- Discussion groups
- Training webinars
- Training workshops
- Skill-share events
We see the collective being responsible for building the human rights movement by identifying and providing skills development opportunities and connections for activists and the wider human rights community.
We have a new suite of skills development resources that you would use to run discussion groups, workshops, training, skill-share events both online and in person (where possible) across Australia.
You will be led by the national Activist Skills Collective Program Coordinator and Training Facilitator working collaboratively with the Development Organiser and a peer-to-peer skills coach as we learn from each other along the way.

- Refine your communication and interpersonal skills
- Gain project management and community organising skills
- Build your understanding of skill-sharing provision
- Build on your team and event coordination skills
- Experience working nationally across a large international human rights organisation
- Improve understanding of international human rights issues and campaigns

- Experience as an activist
- Previous experience in education, training, tutoring, performance, or group facilitation particularly with adults
- Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate to external and internal stakeholders
- Experience working with volunteers/activists
- Experience volunteering or working with a community organisation
- Ability to work within a team environment and independently
- Commitment to Amnesty International human rights principles
- Positive, proactive and reliable
